Archangels, heavenly Beings among Us

biblical archangels

When we hear and talk about archangels, we talk about them, mostly known to us, through either the Bible, the Koran, or other religious scriptures.

The word “Arch” is a Greek word and plain translated into English means “Chief” angel.

For more information on the view about archangels from a religious point of view, I found Wikipedia very helpful to gain more data.

Archangels and angels are heavenly beings and as such are untouchable and unreachable to us, the ordinary people. So it seems. I personally do have a bit of a different understanding and also don’t apply to the mainstream view of religious doctrine.

You can read more about the 4 most known Archangels in the following articles.

When I heard about the angels through my parents and their bedtime stories to me, or through Sunday School, I certainly was very eager to listen carefully what the story will hold.

When I got older, I barely have given any thoughts to it if they do or do not exist. I even laughed, back then, at someone when they told me that they can communicate with the angels. Yeah, right, I said and you are God.

How ignorant and arrogant I was in those days. I guess the only excuse I can make for it today, was the fact, that I was still inexperienced, too young and too focused on my earthly studies; and just didn’t spend any time at all on subjects like metaphysics or the occult.

Everything changed when I lost, in less than 5 years, 10 people close to me, including my parents. It was a wake-up call and I started to search for finding answers for my many “whys” and hoping for some healing balm for my wounded heart and soul.

The Point of No Return

In 1992 (the year my father passed away) in the Fall, I was introduced to a woman who is a psychic and a clairvoyant and was giving seminars to a spiritual subject in collaboration with different “spiritual teachers“.

The Ascended Masters

You can’t imagine the look on my face when arriving at the location, meeting at least 30 people and we all were seated in a circle with this woman. Where were the heck the spiritual teachers?

These spiritual teachers were the ascended masters and the archangels/angels. I don’t really know why I stayed the whole weekend and didn’t follow up my first reaction in leaving immediately?

I am glad I didn’t.

Driving back home from this first seminar of its kind, many will follow for the next few years, I wasn’t only changed, I really felt it too. Something has broken off from me, a big block, a package, whatever you would name it, I felt it off of me

I didn’t understand fully what has just happened and it would take me not only years, to find not just a better understanding of things, but the logic of what is happening around me.

In which you can’t tell anybody because it doesn’t fit into the concept of what we call “Reality

Archangels are a part of a bigger Reality which still has to reach Mass Consciousness

Have you ever spent a thought about how change does occur and by that, I simply mean, how everything changes around us in a constant flow?

Merely over 100 years ago the most known form of transportation was by horse and buggy, a bicycle, or on foot.

Of course, train transportation was also available, but most of the time only of use when traveling a long distance. For shorter distances, on a daily basis, you would have done everything by foot, bike or, as I already mentioned, by horse and buggy.

Nowadays, we don’t even think about this anymore. We use planes, cars, buses, motorbikes, streetcars, underground and so forth.

However, will you believe now that perhaps in 10 or 15 years from today, you can drive a car, even though, you have a less good vision or being blind because the car can drive itself when being given its destination where to go?

Self Driving Car

You might think by now I have lost it, or have gone crazy for sure. Well, I always appreciate someone’s opinion, even though, it doesn’t go along with my view. We all are entitled to our opinion.

Nevertheless, just a few weeks ago I saw a documentary about one major car company, GM to be precise, who has announced that they are actually playing with the possibility that this self-driving car could be the future.

I am surprised as well how fast this new adventure is moving forward.

Now, are you still thinking this is all bogus, unreal, or just a joke? Well, you be the judge of it, like with all major discoveries here on earth only time will and can tell.

You can read more about it here at  Extreme Tech

Some last Thoughts

To come back to the topic about archangels, I do not only believe in them, I also do know, in my heart, that they really exist and perhaps when our conscious mind, someday in the future, will accept their existence and not try to dismiss it as a utopia, this will be finally the beginning of true WORLD PEACE.

Something we all want so intensively to happen and, yet, it seems we do get more from the opposite.

Well, as you might expect there will be more similar topics in the upcoming future because after all, this is what this website is created for. I don’t have all the answers if any at all, nor do I wish for it.

I just believe in these unseen forces, which are constantly surrounding us. Using them for a good and a better understanding, as well for personal growth and development, is the reason why I am writing this article, so you can make up your own mind.

I hope, this article will light up some spark inside of you and perhaps you will find the answers to your questions too.

After all, even the Bible says it is possible:

Mark 11:23

“I assure you: If anyone says to this mountain, Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him”

Please be advised that this is my belief and I never will dictate that my belief or point of view is the only one. There are many ways towards the big Light.

Some will call this “Light” GOD, ALLAH, SOURCE, or just THE UNIVERSE. As long we can make it understandable for ourselves there is no right or wrong.

Angels Among Us

The angels are, literally, the bridge to this “energy“, which makes it easier for us to give our sorrows, problems and other concerns to these heavenly beings, without having the feeling we have overstepped our boundaries.

Which also is a (false) belief, most of us have grown up with. Who didn’t hear a similar phrase when growing up…”don’t bother God with your petty problems”… etc.

May as it is, the archangels and angels are here to help and there is tons of proof out there when we just start to open our minds a little bit.

Another thing I like to mention, to some religious controversy about archangels, they are totally non-denominational and don’t care at all if you call yourself religious, spiritual or none of it.

When you ask them for help and you can step aside to be helped, they will help you!

  1. Hi! Wow, your article is inspiring. I never knew that Arch is a Greek word and that it means Chief. To me I wouldn’t call your inability to accept the fact that angels are real and can communicate with ordinary people arrogant, I can only say that your ignorant and inexperienced in those days. Angels are real, they communicate with us and they are the messengers through which God pass information at times to us.I am sorry about the loss of your parents and loved ones. I am happy that you are well convinced now that angels do exist. Thanks for your article.

    1. Thank you, Gracen, for your comment and support.

Yes, I have come to terms over all these years and there is no doubt anymore that I am surrounded by these heavenly beings.

It is a good feeling to know this. 🙂

  2. I have a sixth sense or third eye, as you would call it and never could understand why I could read people like a book or feel something is not right in a given situation. I have seen and still see spiritual manifestations, which means I truly believe in angels good and bad. I don’t however believe in praying or requesting help from them, but they certainly exist more as guiding lights. I was born into Christianity but not religious. Still am Christian but a more wiser and humble now as I grow older. Thank you for an article that opens up a discussion for a unique and rare topic about angels.

    1. Being clairvoyant, and this what you are is not as unusual as you might think. Many people have it but are just too afraid to openly talk about it.

Praying, just another word for talking if you so will is ok. Asking for help is also ok. Angels are here to help if we let them.

I thank you for commenting and sharing your experience, appreciated.

  3. HI Sylvia, thanks for writing this article,it was great.I didn’t agree with all of it entirely but that is probably because of my chrisitan faith background.I personally believe there are some things we shouldn’t mess around with e.g. occult stuff, psychics etc.I do however like this article and how it dicusses angels and their presence around us each day.I have been reading a bit more about these beings of late as well as seeing some video material on youtube about them and it has certainly got my attention.Anyway good work here Sylvia, thanks :))

    1. Thank you, Billy, for your comment and insight on the matter.

Our beliefs certainly do form our views and how we approach things in our lives and this is ok too.

I agree that certain things shouldn’t be messed with, especially, if there is no real knowledge or sincerity behind it.

Nowadays, we see so many shows on TV addressing topics just to entertain the public and this, in the end, doesn’t help at all to discuss these matters openly and with sincerity rather make them more of a joke.

  4. Hi Sylvia! Your article was a fascinating read for me. I have to admit that I am a skeptic though. My father was a pastor so I grew up in a very religious environment. I was very religious myself growing up but as I got older I ran into a lot of hypocritical behavior that sort of turned me off of most things spiritual. I consider myself an agnostic now. It seems to me that your spiritual journey really began after you suffered some incredibly difficult losses. Do you think that this may have made you “vulnerable” to searching for answers just to relieve some of your grief? I hope I am not being critical, I am really interested in your answer.

    1. Thanks, Stone, for your comment and question.

No, you are not too critical at all and your question is valid.

Also, No, the losses of people in my life didn’t make me more vulnerable as I was before, at this time.

However, it actually helped me to open up to more there is in life, instead, of only what we can see in the manifested version.

I also do understand when people have grown up in a strong structured religious way that they either keep up the status quo or they will step away from it and usually may close themselves totally off.

Everything we do in our life is a part of growth. Perhaps, in 20 years from now, we might have a different discussion about the subject matter. Who really knows?

I certainly have not all the answers but I do know for sure that we are not alone and that there is more we, as humans haven’t discovered, yet.

Keeping an open mind is for me a key element as well being critical and observed. 🙂

  5. Very good information.  I know that I too, lost 3 people very close to me suddenly (my mother, my son, and my cousin) all within months apart.  I grew up Lutheran, and I never lost faith.  I just didn’t do anything with it as an adult.  After the deaths in our family, it made me realize how short life is and that having and living with faith is exactly what I needed in my life.  I know I have a guardian angel.  Sometimes I know this angel is watching over me, and sometimes my faith is tested.

    1. Thank you so much for your comment and for sharing your thoughts.

I do agree with you that our faith sometimes will get tested. However, the test is more for us than for the “other side”, which has no interest in testing us. We are accepted for who we are right from the start of our life.

To know to have a Guardian Angel is a good thing and it helps to feel safer in the world. 🙂

  6. Thanks for this lovely article and for mention Diana Cooper.

I am a huge fan of her books and cards. She really knows her stuff when it comes to angels and other spiritual beings.

  7. Hi,

Your article is fantastic and I grew up hearing stories about how angels did help to those who do believe in them.

My Mother and Grand-mother were both strong believers and churchgoer. I am not so much and like you said in your article ,I also did rebel against it.

Now I am much older and both of them are gone. I wish I had listened more to their stories and experience.

    1. Cindy, I know how this can be tough. When we are younger we don’t really understand and than, when we are getting older we like to understand and sometimes can’t get it anymore from the source we want to.

However, we still can find answers and this is the reason why I like to try to give some answers with my posts here on this site.
Thank you so much for your comment and insight. 🙂

  8. Sometimes it is hard to understand that something like the angels or archangels really do exists. I certainly find your article very informative but I personally don’t believe in it.

Sorry if I couldn’t be more admitting to your content.

    1. Jane, I thank you for your comment and honesty. There is no right or wrong when it comes to a person’s beliefs.
You don’t need to defend yourself for not believing in angels nor does any other person, including myself, for believing.
We all are entitled to our point of view and beliefs.
Thank you for sharing yours, appreciated. 🙂

  9. I enjoyed reading this article Sylvia. I totally believe in angelic beings and that many of them work with us and help us in our daily lives. I also believe that each has a specific role or mission to play in the world and our lives.

Having a Catholic upbringing I was taught mainly of the three Archangels – Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael. These were the biblical ones. But I since came to learn of all seven, including Uriel, Barachiel, Selaphiel, Raguel, and Jegudiel. And I believe there are probably many more since the heavenly realm is vast. Our universe is but a spec.

I also believe that we each have our personal angel or guide, often called our guardian angel. Some of us have even more than one depending on either, how much help we need or the type of mission we were alotted in life.

I believe that we have’t even begun to uncover the secrets of the non-physical realm. Consider that we cannot even begin to fully understand our physical world. So how then could we even think we have one iota of what the non-physical is all about.

However, with great people like yourself, people can learn more and more over time.

    Keep spreading the good news.

    All the best

    1. Thank you, Kevon for this wonderful comment and the expression of your opinion on this article. I also couldn’t agree more with your viewpoint as well.

Thank you also for your compliment and I am sure will continue writing about it since this is not just my passion but also my belief.

  10. Hello Sylvia,

Thanks for this article. Yes, we all need to be aware of the angelic presence – there are there whether we choose to acknowledge them or not – they just are!

The world of the unseen sometimes make us negate its existence – we get so caught up with other ‘obvious’ things and beings.

I am a spiritual person and I endeavor to be in touch with the angels, asking them for their help and just simply thanking them for being there.

I do this every day. I choose to make it my way of life. In doing so, I am less stressed and more inclined to receive ‘tips’ towards solutions when needed.

    Thanks again, Sylvia.
    Great reminder.

  11. Hi,

I must say, this was an interesting and different post. I do believe in God and angels. I am a Born again Christian trying to live my life how Christ would want me to live it.

I do not get to deep in the weeds about spiritual beings. I live life trying to be an inspiration to others through love and helping others.

    Best of luck to you.

    1. Thanks Tim for your comment.

this is what is spirituality all about, living our lives in peace and harmony and being an inspiration to others too. 🙂
