How to use the Reiki Moving Meditation

If you are a Reiki Master and or a Reiki teacher you might to know about the Reiki Moving Meditation since it will be taught at these Reiki Levels.

Reiki Energy Flow

I am a Reiki Master/Teacher too and when I first got introduced to this form of movement, during my Master/Teacher class, I was simply amazed. I was amazed at how easy it is to do and I also was amazed by the results I can see after only using it for the first time.

Now, if you are a Reiki practitioner “only” having Reiki One and or Reiki Two Level you might not know of it at all or what am I really talking about, don’t worry, I will talk about it in a modified version, but can assure you when you are using this Reiki moving meditation that it is as powerful as the original one taught at the Reiki Master/Teacher Level.

What is Reiki Moving Meditation?

Our state of mind is very crucial to achieve our goals, accomplish our daily tasks and being able to stand up to the challenges of our lives. However, to be that resourceful by having a balanced, calm mind isn’t always that easy.

Daily challenges are the most culprit where we can lose our “cool” very quickly. This goes especially for our modern day and age where we “should” be more relaxed with all the “helpful” gadgets around us like

  • Computers, tablets, and smartphones
  • Modern transportation like fast cars, motorbikes
  • Many recreational possibilities like one kid join a sports activity the other one is set up for music lessons

This doesn’t look like a big deal but it isn’t the first time a parent complains to me that they have to be a master in scheduling to get all the appointments, business, and social engagements, as well the kid’s extra curriculum under one roof.

In a short-term, that might be even fun and manageable, but in our modern society with all the “digital” help it has become a chore which the fun is slowly disappearing and “only” pure managing time at the forefront.

Nevertheless, there are ways where we still can influence the state of our mind, emotions hence our overall well-being for the better. Since everything is connected so there is also a strong connection between our mind and body. If one of these two is not feeling well the other will notice it very quickly.

Reiki Energy Hands

BTW, every physical ailment has its roots in our mind or emotions or both. This imbalance will show, as a last resort to get our attention, in any physical problem from a headache to a full-blown migraine to any chronic illness like arthritis even cancer.

It always depends on the person’s personal “Achilles heel” which is the weakest part of a certain region of the physical body.

I.E. when I get tens even stressed out my shoulders and neck will be my weakest part of the body and it will trigger a colossal of a tension headache for a day or two. Another person might have a sensitive stomach or a sensitive digestive system prone to either diarrhea or constipation.

Take a look at Yourself

If you are not well mentally or emotionally due to stress in your personal or business life you will show it in your posture. Many people will hunch over when they walk, showing the world how much “stuff” they have to carry around. Another fact can be developing body aches and pain although you are very athletic and shouldn’t show any signs in this regard.

As you can see how close the body and mind are a unit. However, there is a way where you can change the direction of your mind in a more resourceful way and this is by moving your body. It isn’t new science at all by moving the body through an exercise like

  • Swimming
  • Walking
  • Any other form of sports
  • Dancing

There, it can bring back not only flexibility in your body but in your mind as well. To gain back a strong healthy mindset can be achieved through the following Reiki Moving Exercise.

You don’t need to be a Reiki practitioner or to know Reiki at all. The way I explain it to you everyone can do it.

Let us get started! 🙂

Steps to do the Reiki Moving Meditation

  1. Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart. Take 3 deep breathe in and out and just be quiet for a minute, close your eyes too.
  2. Now bring both of your hands up about 6″ in front of your heart. Both palms facing each other being about 8″-10″ apart from each other.
  3. Stay for another minute or two, eyes still closed, breathing calmly and focus on your hands. You may feel after a while some tingling, feel the energy flow between your hands. If you don’t feel anything don’t worry it can take time, don’t force it.
  4. Now move both hands way up, also breathing in, until both arms are stretched out. Turn the palms of your hands outward.
  5. Now breathe out and by doing so swing your arms around in a circle and bring your hands back where you started from, in front of your heart.
  6. Now, breathe in again and by doing so face the palm of your hands down to the floor and by exhaling motion your hands 3 x towards the floor. This is sending the energy into the ground also grounding us.
  7. Bring your hands back as demonstrated in # 2.
  8. Start again doing all the steps. Repeat these steps for a whole set 3x.
  9. Now, you start a chant and the chants I am giving you are just guidelines if you get more comfortable with all this you can create and use your own chants.
  10. Holding your hands in front of your heart as described in # 2. Instead of concentrating on your breath cycle when stretching your arms above, you will say “I am fully grounded in this life, my life” by doing this you will follow the steps of # 4-6, repeat this chant 3x.
  11. Now use another chant starting again as described in # 2 this time the chant is “I am always connected to the Divine” (you can substitute the word Divine with God, Source, Universe or what is for you the meaning of the higher energy), repeat this chant also 3x.
  12. End the Reiki Moving Meditation by doing the moving once again concentrating on the breath moving the hands swinging around and motion it into the ground when exhaling, repeat 3x. Stand still for a minute keeping your arms at your side. Feel your body, feel the whole YOU.
Reiki Moving Meditation Steps

These steps would be a whole set and it can take 5-10 minutes depending on how many chants you personally like to add. Do as many sets as you like and feel guided to.

Over time you will experience how calming and refreshing this Reiki Moving Meditation can be and what a positive impact it will have on your mind and therefore on your whole persona.

To all the Reiki Practitioners and Masters

This is a revised version of the original Reiki Advanced Training by William Lee Rand.

As a Reiki Master you are being given sacred and secret Reiki symbols which are being used in the original Reiki Moving Meditation. If you feel guided to learn about it go to this website “The International Centre for Reiki Training” and receive more information.

However, I personally felt guided to write about it and to give the outside world an opportunity to do something great for each individual. Try it out you might find it really relaxing and this is what we need.

My own experience with the Reiki Moving Meditation

Even though I am a Reiki Master/Teacher for quite some years I don’t always take advantage of the knowledge I have and use it for myself. I am sure I am not alone with that. 🙂

One day I woke up and had the most interesting dream being told it is okay to use what I know. Okay, I thought this is interesting and what does it mean. I have quite a database of knowledge so where should I look?

I went to my computer desk to do some work and by turning around too quick on my chair bumped into my bookshelf where a couple of books fell on the floor and one of them was my “old” manual where the Reiki Moving Meditation is described.

Giving Reiki Energy

I took it and started to read the whole manual from cover to cover and it seemed to me I was reading it for the first time. On this day I started the Reiki Moving Meditation and if I can, I do it on a daily basis.

It certainly has changed my life. My outlook on things as well sharpened my mind and calmed my emotions, it also has strengthened my connection to the divine and the whole spiritual realm.

Give it a try and let me know in a comment down below how it went for you, I like to know 🙂

  1. This Reiki Moving Meditation steps look a bit like Tai-Chi. Not a lot of movements, but pack with some good energy. I am just starting to learn more about Reiki after seeing a friend recovers through this type of practice, but must say I was a bit skeptic at first. Will certainly give this meditation move a try and see where it would bring me. Thanks for sharing.

    1. Hi Cathy,

Thank you for leaving a comment, appreciated. My suggestion is to take it slow and easy and see what it does for you. If you like to try it, just stay with it for a week or so and observe, I certainly would like to hear from you about your experience. 🙂

  2. I do a lot of multitasking everyday at work and I sure do need a relaxing and meditating moment with reiki meditation  as it can bring back not only flexibility in your body but in your mind as well. To gain back a strong healthy mindset can be achieved through this amazing exercise on this post. Thanks for this informative article.

    1. Thanks for your comment and yes, it certainly can help when you have 5-10 minutes to spare during your work hours to do this Reiki Moving Meditation and it certainly will refresh your mind too.

  3. Hello fellow light worker! Love this post. Energy medicine such as this reiki meditation are simple but very powerful when practiced over time. I think the simplicity is why many people don’t full consider how it could positively influence them. Maybe this is our programming-that we expect life to be more complicated than it is, and therefore seek more complex answers. Nice to come across another energy worker. I use meditation, energy work and exercise nearly every day. Can’t do with out it. 🙂

    1. Thank you, Liz, for leaving a comment and sharing your insight on the matter.

I am always happy when people have the same or similar interests in energy medicine/healing.

Yes, you are absolutely right when you say that we like to complicate things and don’t like to understand that there are, sometimes, easier ways to help ourselves to get better results.

When doing this Reiki Moving Meditation it really doesn’t take very long to see, in the beginning,  some subtle changes but these subtle changes will change into bigger changes, so worth it. 🙂

  4. Thank you for sharing the Reiki Meditation how tos. The way you practice is very similar to my religion, Buddhist, we do meditate at the temple to clear our minds. There was a time in my life that I could meditate. I am just like you, hove the tools and knowledge of how to do it but never get to do for me.

This time I will make sure to take care of myself as well 🙂 will give your meditation a try. Which time of the day do you like to do reiki moving meditation? Before bed? Or early in the morning?

    1. Thank you for your comment and question, appreciated.

Yes, sometimes we will lose the sight of things due to our daily life routine or the lack of it. However, we always can find the time, even just 5 minutes, to this Reiki Moving Meditation and it will clear our mind and soul.

In how often and which time of the day you should do it depends solely on what you prefer. You can do it in the morning after getting out of bed or in the evening before going to sleep, as well at any time between them.

Choose your preference and you will be fine. There are no strict rules only one “just do it” 🙂

I hope this has answered your question.

  5. This is a nice review of an interesting method of relaxation and exercise. I would not have considered this myself without reading your very interesting post. I like the fact you describe each excercise so I can try and follow the steps and be better at it myself. Thanks for this.

    1. Thanks, Kenny for taking the time to leave a comment.

Yes, sometimes we just have to try something new even though we don’t know anything at all about it.

However, we also can be surprised when we try this new “thing” that it actually did work.

I know this, because at one point in my life I was a non-believer of things like meditation etc. and only due to my curiosity I started to understand these “things” actually can work to help to stay more focused and to be relaxed at the same time.

Just try it and if you like to share your experience.

  6. Great Info! Thank you!

I was taught this technique around 7 years ago, Inever knew it was called Reiki..and I really like that we can actually make own mantra instead of using Reiki words to enhance the energy!(I know very little of the subject, so please do not laugh). I was told that speaking the mantra must be done with a master of yoga or so, and not to do it myself.

For me, I do whatever feels right in my heart.

    Have a nice day,

    1. Thank you, Leo, for sharing your insight on the matter and I only can say to you, that you don’t need anyone else to use a mantra. You are entitled to this on your own and following your heart is always a good start. 🙂

  7. Wow, what a powerful article! I had heard of Reiki but have never tried it. So much of the information in your article made so much sense to me, like the mind and body going hand in hand and when one is not feeling well the other one notices, that is soooo true! This is something I definitely want to look into. Thank you!

    1. Thanks, Nicole for leaving a comment, appreciated.

Yes, it is true that one (mind) can’t go with the other (body) when one is in despair the other certainly will notice it.

I only can say that it is worth it to try this Reiki Moving Meditation and see for yourself what it does to you. Enjoy! 🙂

  8. This was a fun article to read, and I’m going to give the steps a try. I meditate every morning and frequently watch reiki videos online, but I’ve never tried a Reiki Moving Meditation myself. Your article gave me the guidance and inspiration I needed to give it a try!

    1. Thank you, Tucker, for your comment and for considering to try this Reiki Moving Meditation for yourself.

I would appreciate if you could share your personal experience with it, this is always welcomed by me. 🙂

  9. Thank you so much for this timely article. I think I need to do more meditating lately and what better way to start with Reiki meditation. I’ve never heard of it but after reading this I think I’m ready to try and gain the benefits. My stress has been at an all-time high and I need to calm down so thanks for this wonderful article Sylvia.

    1. Thanks, Brandon for taking the time to leave a comment I do appreciate it.
Yes, Reiki can do so much good and I really do recommend to try it out it will reduce your stress level quite a bit. 🙂

  10. I really believe that we are capable of healing ourselves, and for a very long time I’ve been against, for lack of a better term, Big Pharm and the “pills, pills pills!” push (also vaccines… since when is anything free? And you get “free” vaccines in grocery stores AND 20% off your groceries when ya do!? what’s that about?? I don’t trust it).

I do think we have a sort of internal pharmacy of our own, and that energies are a part of that. Although I’m just now learning about chakras and things of that nature. I have a pretty strong Biblical faith, but I don’t think that necessarily means I have no room for this sort of belief system. When it comes to Biblical teachings, History, and Science… so many miss the points where they all three come together. We’ve been pretty programmed to believe that you can only have one or the other, but I don’t think that’s true at all.

Although I haven’t bought into all of it, per say, I try to keep an open mind. I enjoyed reading what you’ve got here 🙂 I’m always learning!

    1. Thank you, Courtney, for taking the time and leave such a wonderful comment I do appreciate it very much when people engage with me due to my articles.

Courtney, the beauty, especially with Reiki, is that it doesn’t matter which religion or faith you have or following. Reiki, as the word says, is pure life force energy and how you name this energy (God, Divine etc.) doesn’t matter.
There is also a worldwide community of Reiki practitioners just proving what I am saying. 🙂

  11. Hi Sylvia,

Your holistic approach to health is similar to my belief that the whole body is connected – spirit, mind and body, and the condition of one affects the condition of the other.

It is interesting to learn of different ways to maintain a balanced life. I agree with you that we should always seek to know the root of the problem and not just treat the symptoms.

The moving meditation steps you present are doable, and I need to do those exercises.

    Thanks for the info.

    1. Thanks, Judy for taking the time to leave a comment and to share your opinion.
I am sure you will like this exercise and perhaps, if you have done it I certainly would like to hear from you and what kind of an experience you had with it. 🙂

  12. Oh Sylvia this was wonderful, thank you so much. Sometimes we find things exactly when we need them and this my friend was exactly what I needed! 🙂
I’ve book marked this post so I can come back to it, so I remember. Thank you.

    1. Wenda, you are welcome glad you liked it. If you ever find the time to try out this Reiki Moving Meditation I would appreciate your opinion to share.
Thank you for leaving a comment. 🙂

  13. Hello Sylvia,
Thank you for such an energetic article.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. I will indeed give it a try. There are no words for me to express the gratitude I feel in receiving this article. All I can say is that it truly resonated with and I thank you for sharing.

    1. Thank you Michelle, for your kind comment and that you have enjoyed this article and exercise.
Would you also be so kind to leave a comment about your experience with this Reiki Moving Meditation, it would be appreciated.:)

  14. Hi Sylvia,
I love your story with the syncronicity of the book falling down from the shelf. It seems incredible, but I know that sometimes things happen just like that!

Thanks for the Reiki Meditation. I tried it out just now and it feels good. I might repeat it with some more chants. As I am a professional singer I always have a little nlock when “just” chanting or singing something without paying attention to the outcome. And that, in my opinion, is counterproductive to the exercise, right?

    1. Right, Heidi. Just because we do chant doesn’t mean that we don’t pay attention, actually, we do.
However, we do let go from the conscious minds controlling mechanism and this is what we want being Free of control. Anyway, being in control is an illusion. 🙂
